On December 8th, 2024, police in Ormond Beach responded to a call after a young woman was found lying on the side of the roadway, with her vehicle left unattended nearby.
As officers arrived to check on her condition, body-worn cameras captured how the encounter unfolded, leading to an unexpected and unusual arrest.
According to public booking records, the woman was identified as Jessica Crown and was charged with resisting arrest with violence. She was booked into jail later that day. Records also indicate a later arrest months after this incident for a violation of pretrial release related to the case.
